Governor Tony Evers has officially declared April 16, 2025, as National Healthcare Decisions Day and the week of April 14–20, 2025, as Healthcare Decisions Week in Wisconsin.

This statewide proclamation—initiated through a collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Bar Association and the Wisconsin Medical Society—aims to encourage physicians and patients to have conversations about Advance Care Planning as a way to help ensure treatment wishes are followed at important times of a patient’s life through Advance Directives.

The proclamation reflects Wisconsin's commitment to empowering its residents with the knowledge and resources they need to plan ahead for their healthcare.
